TREVOR HUDDLESTON GOES BACK-TO-BACK WITH ARCA WEST, CLAIMS NAPA 150 IN ROSEVILLE
ROSEVILLE, Calif. (October 5, 2024) – Trevor Huddleston of Agoura Hills, Calif. dominated Saturday’s NAPA Auto Parts 150 presented by Berco Redwood at All American Speedway for the ARCA Menards Series, West, leading all 150-laps from the pole for his second consecutive series win. Huddleston topped General Tire Pole Qualifying and left zero doubt during a non-stop contest, clicked off in under 37 minutes on the one-third mile speedway. Huddleston’s lead fluctuated between two and three seconds over Eric Nascimento, Jr. of Manteca throughout the contest.
“Epic man. Epic,” Huddleston said. “It’s a crazy couple of days. Got engaged (last weekend in victory lane) and got these wins. I live a blessed life.”
Second in 2024 points Tyler Reif of Las Vegas slipped backwards on the high line in the early laps. Nascimento won a battle with Jack Wood in the Bill McAnally Racing NAPA Auto Parts No. 16 Chevrolet for second. 2024 points leader and 2023 series champion Sean Hingorani of Newport Beach worked his way past Wood for third on lap 46. Reif battled back through the pack, overhauling Hingorani after an entertaining side-by-side duel for third. Nascimento was mired in traffic for most of the second half of the race, allowing Reif to drive to within a car length of Nascimento for second.
Huddleston cruised, lapping up to 5th position. Nascimento’s younger brother Ethan unlapped himself to become the sixth lead lap car. Ethan Nascimento then tried to run down fifth running Jack Wood but was unable to do so.
Huddleston accepted the checkered flag with a 1.482-second lead followed by Eric Nascimento, Jr., Reif, Hingorani, and Wood.
Linny White won his first zMAX CARS Tour West race in the series’ debut appearance in Roseville. The Berco Redwood Pro Late Model 100 also paid points towards the 2024 track championship and involved 20 weekend entrants.
Parker Malone of Redlands snagged the pole position after qualifying but was passed by series points leader Jeffrey Peterson of Grand Terrace on the opening lap. 2024 Roseville points leader Kenna Mitchell of Loomis passed Malone for second on lap six. Peterson and Mitchell charged to a comfortable lead on the field and led them into lapped traffic by lap 40. Fading brakes sent Jr. Late Model points leader Kylie Glick of Lincoln, age 14, into a spin for a caution on lap 41.
Mitchell used the outside line to take the lead on lap 42 before Peterson battled back to lead lap 43. Malone then passed Mitchell for second before they collided in turn three, bringing out a caution on lap 50 and relegating both to the rear.
Fort Bragg’s Aidan Daniels and Napa’s Dylan Zampa emerged in a battle for second behind Peterson. Zampa took second, then had a shot at Peterson after an additional caution involving Glick and Nash Youngren on lap 80.
Zampa drove to the outside of Peterson, then attempted a signature Roseville crossover in turn two. The move was nullified by a caution for a multi-car skirmish on the frontstretch on lap 88. The incident saw Trey Daniels of Fort Bragg spinning, with second in Roseville points Thomas Martin of Auburn hitting the turn four wall with significant damage. Andrew Chapman and San Jose’s Jay Juleson were also eliminated.
The battle for the lead resumed on the restart with Peterson sliding in turn one and opening the bottom for Zampa. Zampa and Linny White then collided hard in turn four. After two laps of door banging racing, Zampa made contact with Peterson into turn one while White and Mitchell tangled for third behind them as well. Peterson spun and was hit by Christian Bazen of Santa Clarita. When the dust settled, officials placed White and Mitchell on the front row for the restart while Peterson and Zampa restarted at the rear.
White and Mitchell raced door to door for the win on the restart. On the final lap, Mitchell worked White up the hill in turn one and Malone attempted to go three wide on the bottom. White successfully defended the three-wide challenge to take the win, followed by Mitchell, Malone, Aidan Daniels and his younger brother Trey Daniels.
Kenna Mitchell wrapped up a championship-winning season in the JM Environmental Wild West Super Series while Eric Schmidt of Roseville won his second consecutive race in the class. Schmidt and Mitchell traded the lead four times but never ran further than three car lengths apart from each other.
A caution for San Fransisco’s Michelle Nagai spinning on the backstretch set up a four-lap sprint to the finish. Coming to green for the restart, Bakersfield’s Scott Sanchez and Nagai came together in a violent impact which launched Nagai nearly over the top of Sanchez’ car. Both drivers were uninjured. Schmidt was declared the winner over Mitchell while Loomis’ Chris Scribner earned a Super Series career-best in third.
Bakersfield’s David Mayhew, twice a runner-up in the ARCA West competition at Roseville, won the MMI Legends Tour West Pressler Properties 35-lap feature. 20 INEX Legends participated in the race. Opening lap carnage ensued when Zach Sansom and New Mexico’s Sean Salazar had hard contact in turn four. MMI Legends points leader Tyler Reif drove up to second by lap 13. Sansom then tangled hard with Sacramento’s David Shelly and stopped on the backstretch with damage on lap 24.
Mayhew persevered over a three-wide challenge involving Reif and Brenden Ruzbarsky of Tracy on lap 26. Mayhew topped Reif, Ruzbarsky, Roseville points leader Brandon White of Eureka, and Bakersfield’s Logan Chambers at the finish.
Lincoln’s Kylie Glick scored her second Jr. Late Model win of the year after leading all 25 laps. Both Roseville’s Dayton Broyles and Bella Thomsen of El Dorado Hills spun on lap 23 in the fourth turn. The following restart between Glick and Auburn’s Colton Nelson was called back, but Chase Lopez of Castro Valley hit Glick as the field slowed for the yellow flag. Lopez was unable to continue with front end damage.
Glick retained the lead and led the final two circuits. 11-year-old Eli Black of Santa Rosa snuck past Nelson for second at the finish as well. Broyles suffered a hard crash on the final circuit but was uninjured.
All American Speedway resumes action on October 19 with the A-All Mini Storage Monster Truck Bash. Monster Truck excitement hits the infield dirt for two shows at 2pm and 7pm. The NAPA Super Stocks and F4s will have circle track racing as well with heat races in the afternoon and features in the night program. Tickets are on sale now at www.allamericanspeedway.com
